SUMMARY:SLNC Afterschool Nature Art Classes ~ Tuesdays\, 11/12 - 12/3
DESCRIPTION:4 weeks of classes for ages 8-12\nTuesdays from 5-6pm starting November 12th to December 3rd  \nIn an age where digital distractions dominate\, nurturing creativity through hands-on activities is more important that ever. This fall\, we are thrilled to introduce our afterschool nature art classes designed specifically for children to explore their artistic talents while connecting with the great outdoors. From watercolor painting to candle making\, fairy gardens to mosaics\, our diverse range of classes provides endless opportunities for fun\, learning\, and self-expression. \n  \nThe program is a drop-off program run by SLNC’s Environmental Educators.  We encourage parents to minimize interactions with the class in order to reduce distractions.  Parents are not required to stay on site\, but are welcome to hike the trails on their own during this time. \n  \nOur afterschool nature art classes are designed for children aged 8-12\, with activities tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Each session focuses on a unique theme encouraging children to explore various artistic techniques and materials. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the exciting activities we have planned: \n  \nNovember 12th\nPainting in nature: Creating watercolor paintings of our surroundings here at Silver Lake Nature Center. They’ll learn about color mixing and texture while crafting beautiful artwork that reflects the beauty of the outdoors. \nNovember 19th\nCandle Making: In this hands-on class\, children will design their own candles using natural wax\, essential oils\, and even elements from nature like herbs and flowers. Not only will they take home their creations\, but they’ll also gain an understanding of the candle-making process. \nNovember 26th \nFairy Gardens: Children will create their very own magical fairy gardens\, using small moss pebbles\, and miniature decorations. \nDecember 3rd \nMosaics with Nature: Children will experiment with natural materials like stones\, leaves\, and seeds to create magnificent mosaic art. This activity enhances their fine motor skills and encourages patience as they piece together their designs. \n\nPricing for Afterschool Nature Art Series: $80/member; $100/non-members\nRefund Policy:\nCancellations more than 7 days before class will receive a 50% refund.  Cancellations less than 7 days before class will not receive a refund.  There are no refunds for no-shows.  If Silver Lake Nature Center cancels a full refund will be issued.\n\nIf you have any questions\, please contact Summer Camp Director/ Environmental Educator\, Holly Hewchuk at v-hlhewchuk@buckscounty.org \n  \nAfterschool Art Classes
