Join us on this not-so-spooky Fall Night Hike in search of the Nocturnal Creatures of the forest & wetlands! We will begin with mini pumpkin painting inside the SLNC Visitors’ Center, followed by a hike through the dark forest in search of the creatures that are awake through the night.

Along the way, we’ll stop at our Black-light Station on the Observation Platform to observe and identify moths and other nighttime insects.

We will finish our night with a campfire and s’mores at the SLNC Amphitheater. All people, ages 6 and up, are welcome to join us for this night of fall fun!

Costumes and Halloween-festive attire are welcome. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and choose clothing or costumes that allow you to safely navigate trails with varying terrain in the dark, participate in the pumpkin painting craft, and safely roast marshmallows.

Please note that we do not use flashlights during our Night Hike programs but let our eyes adjust naturally to the darkness. Thank you.
