WOW what an awesome event we had here over the weekend to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the SLNC Earthship!! Thank you to ALL who attended – your support & participation are so hugely appreciated!!
Thank you to ALL who supported SLNC and the event by donating funds or products and/or by placing an ad or message in our program booklet!
Thank you to ALL the amazing ~ SLNC Staff & Volunteers, Friends of SLNC Board Members & Event Planning Committee Members, including SLNC Bookkeeper/Office Mgr, Sue Kiernan, who coordinated the event! All working together helped to make the SLNC Earthship 10th Anniversary Celebration such a fantastic community event!!
Thank you to Lorraine Skala, Retired SLNC Assistant Director-Naturalist, for being here to present at the event!! Lorraine spearheaded and made it her mission to construct the first & only public-use Earthship on the East Coast! The SLNC Earthship maintains this distinct title 10 years later!
Thank you to amazing Architect, Michael Jonn, for designing SLNC’s “Earthship” & for being at the celebration!
Thank you to Robert Mercer, Retired SLNC Director-Naturalist, for also being here to present! Bob Mercer worked with Lorraine to help make the SLNC Earthship happen!
Thank you to ALL the amazing Volunteers who worked with us to BUILD the SLNC Earthship!
Thank you to Barb Campbell & Tony Garwood who not only helped to build the Earthship, but they also lead our FREE Monthly SLNC Earthship Tours! (Next one is coming up on Saturday, 10/18, 1-2:30pm! Be sure to stop by!)
Thank you to Al Mikula & Friends for providing the festive music throughout the day!
Thank you to our community partnering organizations who were also on-site to help spread info about animal rescue, Earthships, and more!
Thank you to Senator Steve Santasiero and Commissioner Robert Harvie for presenting us with a commendation in honor of the 10th Anniversary of the SLNC Earthship.
And, an extra-special thank you goes out to our dear friend, Chuck Lufkin. Chuck volunteered countless hours during the construction of the SLNC Earthship, and was so very much looking forward to attending this event and sharing some of his experiences. So sadly (beyond words), Chucky passed away on 9/8/25. Our hearts are broken, and he is so very much missed already. Saturday’s event was dedicated in Memory of Chuck Lufkin. Thank you for all you’ve done and for always being such an incredible friend to, supporter of & biggest fan of SLNC.
Thank you to the Bucks County General Services Team for ALL their hard work in helping to make this event possible – in SO MANY ways!
